Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 September 2026
This document describes how Mendi actually works today and is pending formal legal review. If anything here conflicts with your rights under UK GDPR or your local law, your rights take precedence — write to us and we will fix the wording.
1. What Mendi does
Mendi reads the public conversation around a post and drafts replies you can use. It is a drafting tool. Every draft is a suggestion for you to judge, edit and publish yourself.
Mendi does not post anything on your behalf. There is no automatic publishing, no scheduled sending, and no “post for me” button anywhere in the product. This is a structural property of how it is built, not a setting you could switch on by accident.
2. Your account
You need an account to generate drafts, you are responsible for what happens under it, and you must keep your credentials to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not use Mendi if we are barred from providing it to you under applicable law.
3. Credits and billing
- Plans include a monthly credit allowance, which resets each billing cycle. Unused monthly credits do not roll over.
- Purchased credit top-ups do not expire and are spent after your monthly allowance is used up.
- Generating costs credits, at a published rate shown before you spend. If a generation fails, the credits for it are refunded automatically.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your plan active until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate part-months.
- Prices can change. If the cost of a generation changes, the new figure is what the interface shows before you spend, and we will not reprice something you have already been charged for.
Payments are processed by Stripe, under their terms. We never see or store your card details.
4. What you are responsible for
You decide whether to publish a draft, and you are responsible for what you post. That includes checking it is accurate, that it complies with the rules of whichever platform you post it to, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
AI-generated text can be wrong, out of date, or confidently mistaken. Drafts that reference current events may be based on stale information. Treat every draft as a first draft.
You agree not to use Mendi to:
- harass, defame, impersonate or target any person or group;
- generate content that is unlawful where you are, or where you post it;
- run coordinated inauthentic activity — astroturfing, sockpuppetry, or mass replies designed to look like organic conversation;
- break the terms of the platform you post to, or automate posting through any third-party tool in a way those platforms prohibit;
- resell or redistribute the service as your own.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the drafts you generate and anything you write. We claim no rights over them beyond what is needed to run the service for you — storing them so you can come back to them, and processing them to produce the output you asked for.
6. Availability
We aim to keep Mendi running but do not promise uninterrupted service. It depends on third-party platforms and AI providers that can change, rate-limit or fail without notice. Where a failure costs you credits, those credits come back.
7. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Mendi and delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 4, and will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
8. Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
If you are a consumer, you keep your statutory rights and nothing in these terms takes them away.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
